These pages will provide a means of communicating information relating to Beijing 2008 to athletes and support personnel. To ensure that there is no confusion by copies not being current we will not post the documents on our web site, rather simply link to the Australian Olympic Committees web site. We will e-mail those who meet the Shadow Team requirements regular updates. Please ensure that you keep watching this page and the sub page Information and the Nomination Competitions Score Results (please advise the office if you believe there is an error) The documents posted on the AOC web site are for 2008 are as follows Notes on Nomination Criteria - Entries to Oceania, cl.3.3b (2008Australian Olympic team Nomination Criteria); as AISL is the member body of Oceania, the office will submit all entries by those who accept the nomination in writing and these will be deemed to have been received upon payment of the entry fees, which are due on the 10th October.
- Entries to the Grand Prix which is being held concurrent to the Oceania Continental Championships must be received in accord with the published form. Entries are only open to those who have an MQS. Note there will be no final.
- The final competition has been set to allow those athletes nominated to plan their training and life commitments in order to achieve success without further distractions. This also allows the funding levels to be managed in such a way that those medal prospects may be supported to some degree.
- Prospective versus Shadow Team members: those qualifying under cl.1.5 of the Nomination Criteria will be considered Shadow Team members and will have all documents emailed to them, as they become available. Those not complying with the requirements in cl.1.5 will be considered prospective. Links to all documents will be posted on the AISL website.
- Nomination of Athletes: cl.3.1(5)(b) refers to training program; this will be determined with the individual athlete and their coach in conjunction with the AISL National Coach following the completion of the three qualifying rounds listed in cl.3.3 of the nomination criteria.
